Regional Information

As the World slowly reopens for International Tourism and Travel from the pandemic of the Covid-19, we are grateful to be able to host our valued clients from across the World. Our Overland Tours are usually a combination of 3 or more countries over a period of 22 days. In this regard we try to inform all valued customers of the different country-by-country protocols and regulations as the fight to stop the spread of the Covid-19 is still on. It’s actually trying to strike a balance between resuscitating the Tourism Industry and safety protocols for all our nationals and travellers alike. We therefore appeal to all would be travellers to bear with us the operators as we put safety first for all in these difficult and unusual times. 

 

Our operations run tours in the following countries: Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Lesotho, Tanzania, Kenya, Swaziland and Botswana. 

 

In the text below we highlight the major requirements and practice as operators we have adopted in line with the gazetted requirements by different countries. 

NOTE: We advise you our travellers to check on the website of the destination countries you intend to travel to get the latest update as amendments to the regulations are always made to respond to the challenges faced regularly.  

South Africa Covid-19 Regulations

The following airports are open for International scheduled operations

  1. OR Tambo International Airport
  2. King Shaka International Airport
  3. Cape Town International Airport

 

Covid-19 Tests

All Internationals arriving at the above airports must provide a valid certificate of a negative COVID-19 test, recognised by the World Health Organisation, which was obtained not more than 72 hours before the date of travel.

 

In the event of the traveller’s failure to submit a valid certificate as proof of a negative COVID-19 Test, the traveller will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own cost and should the traveller test positive he shall be required to isolate him/her-self at his/her own cost for a period of 10 days. 

 

Other Covid-19 Regulations and protocols

(i).   A national curfew runs from 23h00 to 04h00

(ii).  Screening for COVID-19, quarantine and isolation where necessary.

(iii).  Mandatory wearing of face mask.

(iv).  Transportation and 

(v)   Sanitisation and social distancing measures as per relevant health protocols on safety and prevention of the spread of COVID-19. 

Namibia Covid-19 Update

The following airports are open for International operations 

Hosea Kutako Windhoek International airport. 

Covid-19 Tests

A negative PCR test is required 7 days prior to arrival, signed and dated by a certified medical practitioner.

 All travellers will be screened on arrival and those travellers showing signs and symptoms will be required to have a COVID-19 test at their costs. 

Travellers are also required to show Travel Insurance on arrival. 

Quarantine

No. Unless they show signs and symptoms of COVID-19, the traveller would be required to undergo further tests for medical checks. If travellers are positive then they are required to be quarantined for a minimum of 10 days.

Other conditions

Wearing of face masks is mandatory in public places.

A curfew is in place from 23h00 to 04h00 everyday 

Mozambique covid-19 Updates

Maputo International airport is open for international travellers’

covid-19 tests

A negative PCR test is required to be valid within 72 hours of boarding.

Curfew 22h00-04h00

All travellers are required to give their contact details to the Mozambique authorities.

No. Unless they test positive for COVID-19 on arrival.

zimbabwe covid-19 updates

The following airports are open for international scheduled flights: 

Robert Mugabe Harare International Airport

Victoria Falls International Airport

covid-19 tests

Travellers are required to provide a negative PCR test within 48 hours of boarding. Please provide a hard copy of such proof.

 

Should a traveller test positive they have to be quarantined for a minimum of 10 days at a local centre at their cost. 

Only vaccinated travellers may use the land border at Kazangula border post unless travellers are on transit and would not stay for more than 24 hours in Zimbabwe.

Travellers are to have the temperature taken by a non-contact thermometer

Travellers must give their contacts to Zimbabwe Health Officials for the purpose of tracking.

Travellers should adhere to National Covid-19 regulations which include among others;

– social distancing, 

– wearing of face mask in public 

– personal hygiene practice like regular sanitising

Zambia covid-19 updates

The following airports are open for scheduled flights:

Lusaka International Airport

Livingstone International Airport

covid-19 tests

Travellers should provide a negative PCR test no older than 72 hours 

Travellers who can provide proof of full vaccination do not require a PCR test. 

Travellers from a ‘high-risk’ area are expected to take a PCR test on arrival.

Children under the age of 5 years are exempted from the above rules. 

Travellers transiting in Zambia (provided they do not stay for more than 24 hours) do not need to be tested or quarantined 

All travellers entering the airport will have to have their  temperature checked  and symptom screening.

Other regulations

Travellers have to adhere to National COVID-19 protocols and regulations including social distancing, wearing of face masks and personal hygiene practice. 

Bars, nightclubs  and Taverns are open only from Friday to Sunday.

Restaurants may only serve Take-aways
